VASER Hi-Def is a type of liposuction that combines different techniques and technologies to create an optimized high-definition liposuction experience. Unlike traditional liposuction, VASER Hi-Def can give patients more precise sculpting around musculature, enhancing their overall appearance.
At Denver Liposuction Specialty Clinic, we use the VASER Hi-Def technique that was pioneered by our very own Dr. John A. Millard to give patients results that look natural and complement their natural physique. If you are looking to enhance your figure or give your muscles a more toned or prominent look, call Denver Liposuction Specialty Clinic at (720) 372-2155 or fill out our contact form so that we can help you reach your goals.

About Liposuction
Liposuction is one of the most popular and sought-after cosmetic surgeries. (1) However, traditional liposuction is not without its limitations. Patients may find that traditional liposuction cannot offer them the precise definition that they are looking for. VASER Hi-Def, on the other hand, has the ability to deliver this extra step of definition by using ultrasound waves to emulsify or break down fat cells, making them easier to extract with liposuction. (2) With VASER Hi-Def liposuction, we can remove fat from more superficial layers of tissue that surround the musculature of the body. (1) At Denver Lipo, we can combine the techniques of Taut Tumescence, Compression Coupling 5-Ring VASER Probe Technology, and the “Beveled” Aspiration Technology to create a system that contributes to the following advances:
- Deep and superficial fat extraction: in many cases, the amount of removable fat is doubled in a very safe and efficient manner.
- Subdermal skin tightening: VASER Hi-Def can improve the elasticity of the skin, allowing for more 3-dimensional sculpting.
- Overall increased efficiency: The use of VASER Hi-Def can speed up the entire liposculpting process by 50-75%, while at the same time reducing pain and blood loss by as much as 80-90%.
Benefits
VASER Hi-Def employs techniques that make it more efficient than other liposuction methods. With Hi-Def liposuction, patients can enjoy the following additional benefits:
- Abdominal contouring for “washboard” muscle appearance
- Higher precision
- Less potential for tissue trauma
- Long-lasting results
- Natural look
- Enhanced figure
- Boosted confidence
- Shorter recovery time (2)
Candidates
If you are looking to sculpt your physique, you may be a good candidate for a VASER Hi-Def procedure. Candidates who are seeking VASER Hi-Def procedures will benefit from being at or near their ideal weight at the time of the surgical appointment. This is because significant weight fluctuations can alter the results of VASER Hi-Def liposuction. It can also help to have good muscle tone. Moreover, VASER Hi-Def–or any other type of liposuction or body contouring procedure–is not designed to help patients lose significant amounts of weight. Candidates should also be willing to maintain realistic expectations about what VASER Hi-Def is capable of.
If you are looking to enhance your figure or the results of your exercise regimen, our patient coordinators can help you determine what kind of treatment would be best for you during a personal consultation.
Personal Consultation
Once you get in contact with our office, we will help you schedule a personal consultation which will be an important first step in receiving VASER Hi-Def treatment. Our patient coordinators will speak with you at length about the VASER Hi-Def procedure and how it is done. During this time, our patient coordinators will need to have a detailed picture of your medical history to tailor your procedure to your specific requirements. We will then carry out a physical examination to document the condition of the skin and the musculature of the treatment area. You will be able to ask questions about the procedure, the preparation, and the recovery. After determining whether or not you are a good candidate for VASER Hi-Def, we will lay out a detailed plan to move forward with. To schedule your personal consultation, contact the Denver Lipo office on Inverness Drive in Englewood at (720) 372-2155 or fill out our contact form.
Preparation
In preparation for your VASER Hi-Def procedure, we will ask that you receive standard lab testing. (1) For patients who are older than 40, we will take an electrocardiogram (EKG) to measure the heart’s activity.
There are some things you can do on your own to prepare for your procedure. We will provide you with detailed preparation instructions and tips, which may include:
- Refraining from smoking about 3 weeks before the appointment date
- Adjusting your medications to disclude those with blood-thinning properties
- Following a nutritious and healthy diet
- Arranging for a trusted individual to drive you home
- Planning to take around 1-2 weeks off of work
Procedure
At Denver Liposuction Specialty Clinic, we use an optimized procedure for VASER Hi-Def that employs the use of Acoustic Streaming. Acoustic Streaming serves to separate the targeted fat globules and help shrink them to a more efficient size for liposuction extraction. Meanwhile, VASER probe ultrasound rings help further reduce the globule size from around 4 mm to about 1 mm. Taut Tumescence is a method we use during VASER Hi-Def during which tumescent fluid will permeate through different layers of tissue. We may also use saline to further improve the tautness of these tissues and prepare them for liposuction.
After the tumescent fluid has sufficiently interacted with the tissue, we will use specialized cannulas, or suction tubes, to selectively remove areas of fat to emphasize certain muscles. (1) While the VASER Hi-Def procedure may take longer than traditional liposuction, it allows for more 3-dimensional sculpting of the various layers of tissue. (1) The overall length of the procedure will depend on the treatment area, but will most likely be around 1-4 hours long.
Recovery
During your recovery, it is normal to experience some bruising and swelling. We will provide pain medications and anti-inflammatory medications. (1) The length of recovery time for VASER Hi-Def procedures will depend on the treatment area and the patient’s own health. Because of VASER Hi-Def’s more precise and less invasive techniques, patients can expect a shorter recovery time of around 2 weeks. However, patients should avoid more extensive exercise or strained movements for at least 3 weeks.
Results
It is important to keep in mind that the final results of your VASER Hi-Def procedure will not be fully visible until the swelling around the treatment area completely subsides. Around 3-4 weeks after your appointment, results will become more apparent. However, it may not be until after around 2-4 months that almost more of the swelling subsides and results reveal themselves. At this time, 95% of your results will most likely be visible. (1) After 6 months, the skin will be done tightening up and you will be able to enjoy the final results.
Patients who choose VASER Hi-Def treatments can enjoy increased muscle definition that appears natural, as well as more elastic and youthful-looking skin.
Cost of VASER Hi-Def Liposuction in Denver

FAQ
How long does the VASER Hi-Def procedure take?
The length of the VASER Hi-Def procedure will vary depending on the patient and the size of the treatment area. This length of time can range from 1-4 hours, with appropriate variations. This procedure may take longer than traditional liposuction because of its more precise techniques and the usage of more complex technologies.
What muscles can VASER Hi-Def define?
Many people seek out VASER Hi-Def in order to achieve the “washboard abs” that can be hard to achieve through dieting and exercise. However, VASER Hi-Def can help men and women define various different muscle areas, such as those in the chest, arms, back, or legs.
What makes VASER Hi-Def different from traditional liposuction?
VASER Hi-Def is mainly different because we are sculpting the musculature.from traditional liposuction in the way that it uses ultrasound energy to target and break up the fat in the treatment area. Meanwhile, traditional liposuction simply uses suction cannulas to do a lot of the work. Traditional liposuction also does not usually have a way to tighten the surrounding skin as VASER Hi-Def does. Overall, VASER Hi-Def requires a shorter recovery time and can provide more precise results. Traditional liposuction is more invasive and is better for addressing broader deposits of fat.
What is VASER?
VASER stands for vibration amplification of sound energy at resonance. This type of technology generates strong sound waves that can selectively target fat tissue while avoiding the surrounding tissues. These sound waves break up the fat and make the globules a better size for extraction.
